Nestled in the foothills, just a stone’s throw from the incredible Red Rocks Park, Morrison is a small community that’s desirable to buyers for almost too many reasons to count. Whether you’re drawn to the outdoors, or you’re a concert junkie, or just want that small-town feel, Morrison may be your perfect neighborhood. Here’s a few you may not have known about the highlights in this community.

Red Rocks Amphitheater

  • Dedicated on June 15, 1941

  • First event was Eastern Sunrise Service on April 6, 1947

  • In its early days, Red Rocks hosted mainly opera and symphonic shows

  • National Historic Landmark status in 2015

Dinosaur Ridge

  • 1877, Arthur Lakes, a professor, and geologist, discovered massive dinosaur bones along the Dakota hogback in Morrison

  • Quarries also yielded the world’s first fossils of the Stegosaurus and Apatosaurus dinosaurs

  • Today it’s a National Natural Landmark that includes a visitor’s center and two trails where visitors can see dinosaur bones, trace fossils and a pristine site of dinosaur tracks.

Beyond some of the larger attractions in Morrison, the town has plenty to offer on its own, making it a popular day destination for people looking to get away from the downtown area for a bit. Morrison features a trail system that snakes around the outskirts of the town and connects to the Bear Creek trail, and there are plenty of bars and restaurant choices, including The Fort, which is famous for its old-west fare.
