Staging Tips For Summer Sellers

Spring and summer are busy seasons in terms of buying and selling real estate. If you’re thinking of listing your home this summer, check out the following staging tips that will help you get the most out of the season.

Pool Rules

If you’ve got a great outdoor patio and pool area, of course you’ll want to show it off. A well-staged pool area can add to the aesthetics of your yard and also give the illusion of more living space in warm seasons. Make sure your pool is sparking and spotless. Remember to stash the pool toys and set up a few sitting areas around the pool to make it look extra inviting.

Tame the Shrubbery

Visiting buyers want to see your yard in all its glory during the summer months. You’ll want to make sure the hedges are neat, the lawn is green and the flower beds are colorful and clean. Plant inexpensive flowers in bright colors – this will draw the eye to the very best parts of your yard. Also make sure to cut back any plants that may be blocking windows.

Prep the Deck

Summer months essentially allow you to increase your square footage by using outdoor living space to your advantage. Power-wash your deck or patio, clean out the cobwebs and spray down the outdoor furniture. The idea is to create a space that invites visitors to imagine themselves relaxing outdoors. Chairs, flowers, pillows, candles… all these small touches can make a big difference.

Light it up!

Make the most of summer sunshine by lightening up around the house. By this we mean swapping out dark towels, blankets and curtains for lighter colors, and maybe add a bright rug or some new throw pillows that celebrate the season. Fresh flowers are always a good idea – not only do they look great, but they bring in the scents of the season as well.
