Neighborhood Spotlight Berkeley
With its close proximity to downtown and tight-knit community feel, the northwest neighborhood of Berkeley has charms that are hard to resist.
Neighboring West Highland and Regis, Berkeley is bordered by Interstate 70 to the north, Federal Boulevard to the west, West 38th Avenue to the south and Sheridan Boulevard to the west. About 8,500 residents call this popular neighborhood “home.”
One of the most popular attractions in this area is the Tennyson Street Cultural District, a vibrant corridor boasting more than 65 businesses, from trendy art galleries and boutiques to salons, studios, flower shops, bars/restaurants, and more.
Beyond the Tennyson Street Cultural District, Berkeley has a fair amount of apartment construction; however, its density prevents the neighborhood from having any more major housing developments.

The median home price for all size properties in the area is $487,500, which is up 6 percent over last year.
Median rent for all size properties is $2,100 — a bit of a drop from when it peaked to $2,400 in March, according to real estate website Trulia.com.
The median income for the area is about $82,000, according to Denver Metro Data, a demographics resource website created by The Piton Foundation.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find lots to do in Berkeley. In addition to parks and playgrounds there is Rocky Mountain Lake Park, a large and scenic park tucked away into the northeast corner of the neighborhood.
